Hi all
First time I ever tried uploading to my megaupload account and realised all my attempts failed.
Direct uploading via browser (tried IE, Firefox, Chrome) always ended with stuck at 0.3%. I've even downloaded and installed the mega toolbar but cannot even upload anything. It keeps "connecting" I've tried using megamanager and it gives me an error code 2 - "The request to upload the file has timed out. Make sure that your proxy/ISP permits direct outgoing TCP connections to port 89. We may also be experiencing a temporary outage, so please try again later."
Been several days that I've tried uploading all failed. (I've set up my firewall to allow the connection to be made). Am I doing something wrong or is my ISP just blocking port 89 (megaupload ONLY uploads via this port?) such that I'm not able to upload to megaupload AT ALL? I've shot a support mail to megaupload a couple of days back and still awaiting their response.
Any help would be much appreciated.
PS. I'm on starhub

Any software firewall or antivirus with slight traffic management in place?

Same here. Totally no luck with uploading. I've given up long ago.
But maybe, just maybe, try enabling proxy if you're using SNBB, see if it works.

I'm using Bitdefender and have disabled the firewall. Not gonna uninstall Bitdefender to test. Will prolly use another system to try uploading again. Still don't make sense how uploading failed especially when uploading via browser failed no?

Hi, me too also can't upload using mega manager. It keeps giving me error 2 code. I tried using browser to upload (Firefox) but connection keeps dying.. around 30-60% lol.
This problem start like 2 weeks ago. Before that i don't have problem with uploading.
And im using Starhub. Called in to ask about port 89, looks like the cso have no clue about ports.
I have no firewall, anti virus what so ever. I don't even torrenting.
I wonder if there are more people who can't upload like me and jejentor too. here

I have just upload some files to mega. At my bro's place... he is using MioPlan 3mb. Guess what... i can upload smoothly... it turn out StarHub blocking ports...
And actually it just start like that like 2-3 weeks ago... just not long after they upgrade the upload limit. According to the cso... the thing outside our unit is called a riser. The just put it not long ago as part as network maintenance at our HDB block. And since then our connection getting slow and pathetic.

I uploaded at around 5pm today, on mol express. Upload was fine, just that the speed is 10kb below usual non peak hour speed. Was using firefox, on a mac.

No problem uploading on MOL Express at this very moment. Upload at 91KB/s for non premium user which is about the max upload bandwidth for MOL Express.

Either you don't know what the cso is talking about or you've been smoke crazy by him/her.
A riser is channel that connect all floors for ease of providing services, eg laying of water pipes, electrical cables, telecommunication cable, etc. These are built into the building during its construction.

Well the cso only said the thing is called riserand never mention anything else, and since they do something with it sometime ago, we start getting problem. The box have suckhub logo in it. ANd i never noticed the box untill recently too.
What i don't like about suckhub is they lied about the ports. And when peak hours the bandwidth choked any connection establish will died.
krazyman, your upload at at 12pm is considered very good... our plan is premium, and i never get that high number like 91 >.< if lucky it is around 60-70KBps and sometime the connection died in the middle. where are you stay btw? im at tampines i wonder it is because of the traffic.
