Gary Megson and Nicolas Anelka have been named November's Barclays Manager and Player of the Month.

Gary Megson has been rewarded for an excellent month by being named Barclays Manager of the Month for November.

The Bolton manager led his side on a run of form that saw them pick up twelve points from a possible fifteen in the Barclays Premier League, including three wins out of three away from the Reebok Stadium.

Entrenched in the relegation zone at the start of November, Bolton defeated Manchester City 2-0 at home before a remarkable display from goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskalainen at the KC Stadium saw The Trotters overcome Hull City thanks to a single Matthew Taylor strike.

Top Flight

The return to form of Swedish striker Johan Elmander saw Megsons side recover from a 2-0 home defeat to Liverpool by claiming the North East scalps of Middlesbrough (3-1) at the Riverside and Sunderland (4-1) at the Stadium of Light to leave Bolton ninth at the end of the month.

The award represents Megson's first in the Barclays Premier League, having previously managed Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion in the top-flight before his appointment at Bolton Wanderers in November 2007.

First player to reach 10 goals

Meanwhile, Nicolas Anelka has capped a tremendous month by being named the Barclays Player of the Month for November.

Chelsea's French international striker scored 7 goals in 5 league matchesd, a run of form that helped him claim a Barclays Golden Boot landmark award in becoming the first player to reach 10 goals in the 2008/09 season.

Anelka started the month in style by claiming his first Barclays Premier League hat-trick in five years in the 5-0 win over Sunderland at Stamford Bridge, before defying atrocious conditions to notch a brace in Chelsea's 2-0 win at Blackburn Rovers.

The 29-year-old's rich vein of form continued as two more goals helped the Blues to a comfortable 3-0 victory at The Hawthorns, home of West Bromwich Albion.

Anelka currently tops the goalscoring charts with 13 strikes, five ahead of nearest rivals Robinho, Amr Zaki and last year's winner Cristiano Ronaldo. It is the first time that he has won the Barclays Player of the Month award since February 1999, and follows Deco and Frank Lampard as earlier winners this season.

Nicolas Anelka has capped a tremendous month by being named the Barclays Player of the Month for November.

The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.

I thought it will be Redknapp - for dragging Tott out of the bottom.

Good to see English managers getting recognition so far this season. Southgate in Aug, Brown in Sept, and now Megson. Benitez was Oct's MOM btw.

The Guv'nor for December's MOM! =:p
