The Inter-Manchester United match is hotting up after Jose Mourinho declared “Zlatan Ibrahimovic is better than Cristiano Ronaldo.”
The Swede has been touted as a contender for the Ballon d’Or by his club, but garnered only 30 points to put him in ninth place.
“When I think of how a player should be, I think of Kaka, Ibrahimovic and Leo Messi,” Mourinho told RAI programme ‘Quelli Che il Calcio.’
“Messi is a phenomenon who in two or three years will win the Ballon d’Or, certainly.
“Ronaldo is a good player, but not the best in the world. He deserved the Ballon d’Or this year because his team won the Champions League, the Premier League and he scored a lot of goals.
“But in my view Ibrahimovic is the best.”
The comments are sure to fire up the atmosphere for the Champions League meeting between these clubs in February.
