I got a computer that was infected with virus & spyware. I've cleared them all, but a few sites like avg.com, mcafee.com, symantec.com, etc are directed to 127.0.0.1. I've checked hosts file, no problem there, only 1 line 127.0.0.1 localhost. I've also tried safe mode with networking, also directed to 127.0.0.1. TCP/IP's dns was not changed, other coms inside the same network have no problem.
What other places inside windows could dns be altered?
BTW, it was infected with antivirus 2008.

look inside your windows host file using notepad, you might be able to find some clue to your problem.
the default location should be c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
