I connected a Axis 205 network camera to the 2wire router(mio package) using wired connection. I can view the captured image using a standard web browser by using the local address of the network camera. The strange thing is when I try to view the existing host device listing within the router configuration page, I could not find the network camera (all the other PCs & notebook are available). As I need to do port forwarding for my network camera in my router configuration in order to access it over the internet, I need to get the router to recognize or detect my camera. Is there anything that I can do to rectify this problem? Any form of assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Are you viewing the router dhcp client list and your camera is on static IP? Since you already know the camera IP and can view on your browser, just forward port to this IP will do.

highly difficult to forward ports, since 2wire doesn't see the cam.

try to assign a static ip to the cam from the router? den try to forward the ports.

The camera has already been set to static ip address

Got it working once I change the mio router to the old 2wire router. Strange isn't it.

But the only difference is I change the router from the mio package router to my previous plan old 2wire router.

How did you do the testing? Access from within or outside your LAN?

access using my external (public) ip address.

asked someone who's using starhub to access my ip address and there's no problem too.

access using my external (public) ip address.

If accessing public IP from within LAN, router must support loop back (aka bypass NAT filtering).
