you need a wireless router. what modem you using now?

pc being in fixed location, it's better to use wired network connection for performance.

1) yes, provided your modem have a LAN port (Starhub all got, singtel depends on what model for your modem)
2) there are more USB than PCI wireless card available in the market

Recommendation, if your PC is near modem/router, recommend you to use cable connect to router(cheaper as your PC should have LAN port rite?)

hi... thks both for the advice..
ya... mine is an ethernet modem... but unfortunate i relocated my pc to my room which has no phone line... the phone point is too far to be connected using wires.. thus i thought of using router instead...

are the router and wireless card plug n play? wat r some recommendations? and the possible costs? thks..

Y don't u buy the Aztech HL105E 85mbps homeplug (comes in a pair)? It uses the electrical wall sockets as LAN.

http://www.aztech.com/sg/promotions.html

or u can buy the wireless usb adaptor.
