Wind Mills, Red Light District, Alkmaar Cheese market, Dam Square are some of the places that should go and visit.

Here you can book the trip. http://www.amsterdamcitytours.com/

If you are there on 30 April, then it is the Queen Birthday and it is a public holiday. It will be a great time to soak into the atmosphere.

Get those day trips out to the islands. Sign up on the Dam. Keukenhof gardens if they remain open. Anne Frank's apartment, if you read the book.

Must eat foods? :s13:

Unfortunately, Dutch cuisine is probably among the worst in the world. And I'm Dutch, so I know =:p

That said, if you're feeling adventurous...

"Drop", liquorice candy, is definitely worth trying out. It's a type of candy that most of the people here in Holland love, but which most foreigners absolutely hate - so don't buy too much of it.

"Snert", a type of pea soup, is one of the most famous traditional Dutch foods. It's usually eaten with a kind of smoked sausage ("rookworst"), and even though it might look somewhat disgusting, it tastes pretty good.

"Stamppotten", stews, are another mainstay of traditional Dutch cuisine. They come in many varieties, like "stamppot zuurkool" (sauerkraut), "boerenkool" (kale), "hutspot" (carrots), etc., and they're typically eaten with "rookworst" as well.

If you're in the mood for junkfood, you might want to try out a "frikandel speciaal", a type of deep-fried sausage with ketchup, mayonnaise and onions.

Or you could have some "pannenkoeken", (pancakes), which in Holland might contain things like bacon, onions, cheese, etc.

And, of course, cheese, like Gouda and Edam. You might be familiar with those already, though. If not, give them a try.

And if you find yourself craving a drink, try a Grolsch. Or maybe a Beerenburg, if you're into hard liquor.

For Amsterdam:

Look for a place called Vlemincx (something like that) that sells fries. Also, try a croquette, the FEBO vending machine ones will do, get the ones with veal inside, very nice.

Other than that Amsterdam is pretty boring to me. Toilets everywhere must pay at least 50 cents euro, so take the initiative to relieve yourself before leaving hotel/restaurant. Also, don't take photos of the sex workers, else you'll be in deeper sh*t than you can ever imagine.

I hope got the chance to try out local foods though meals are 100% covered. Yeah, read from the internet not to take photo of them.

Thanks for the toilet tip.
