Hi,

I am experiencing half the speed of 8Mbps (Singnet BB) when I connect ST536(i)V6 to DIR-655.

I have tried to connect to ST536(i)V6 via cable to access internet without DIR-655 and speedtest.net shows ard 7800+ kbps download speed.

However, when I connect the modem (set to Bridge mode) to DIR-655, and access speedtest.net via wireless (with my DLink G Adaptor), I only manage less than 50% of 7800+kbps.

Does anyone here experience the same thing? Greatly appreciate any kind of help.

Thanks in advance.

Just a quick question on your wireless setup.

1. encryption used
2. client distance from the AP
3. Signal strength / connected speed shown on client

Hi bros,

My singnet BB is 8Mbps plan. So I don't suspect my line is having any problem after my test connecting to modem direct.

I am using WPA-Personal with TKIP/AES, WPA mode is auto. Group key update is set to 3600.

I also disable Auto Channel Scan and fix channel to 6.

Client and AP are within the same room, 2m apart.

Signal is excellent, but the speed varies from 36 to 54Mbps.

I also disable qos and traffic shaping.

Any idea what is wrong with my settings?:s11:

you nid to twist n turn the antenna, or point it the other way. follow channeling guide also.

Hmm.... you can't compare the result of wired connection to wireless 54G connection.
If the results are the same, then the wired connection must be something wrong.

That means your wireless connection is not really stable. Usual causes when you that near is due to interference from other 2.4GHz devices like DECT phone and other wireless user/router that is very near you (ie neighbors wireless router etc...)

To isolate the issue, try do a direct cable connect to the DIR-655 and test.

If you can, test with wired through DIR-655. That would help determine if the problem lies with wireless, or the router itself.

Hi bros,

Sorry I was in JB yesterday.

Funny thing just happened. I plugged my modem to a micro-filter and now my internet connection is

Ran the test a few times and get around the same results. :s12:

I will continue to monitor the speed and just hope that everything will go fine from now.

Thanks for all your help and advises.:)
