MioTV Signup Charges

Was thinking of switching to MioTV (they have interesting Season Passes for US TV-Series), but when I did the online calculator, it showed me I'd have to pay over $200+ for connection charges.

I don't have a SingTel phoneline, because I always used StarHub Digital Voice, but now suddenly if I want to sign up for video on demand from Singnet, I need to pay so much! Any way I can reduce that or don't need to pay for all those charges? (Activation charges, Line Connection, Modem Fee, etc, etc)

dunno, i juz prefer ang moh show over hk/tw show :) i almost only watch ang moh shows nowadays!

suggest u subscribe to Miohome with analogue fixed line, 39,90 for 3MB, then buy the season pass separately, dont think need connection charge for miohome.

hi guys, i checked with SingTel yesterday, and as it turns out, it's as follows:

SingTel Phone Line:
$53.50 service activation fee
NO line conncetion fee coz already in the house
$29 quarterly for the phone-line

MioTV:
NO service activation fee
NO ADSL+ modem required
NO monthly rental for set-topbox
minimum $16.05/mth for channels-subscription

Then on top of that, can buy the season passes for the series i like..

Looks a LOT better than $200+ :)
