Dear all,

am put in charge to reduce IDD call rate for my office, we are already on ZONE1511 but is there other players in the market that can offer the same service with competitive price?? Expect please offer your valuable input. Have only 1 thing comes to consideration other than the price, voice quality cannot be compromise.

anyone's company is using other IDD provider??

i think there is also other competitor in the market which can hold up to 001 quality yet cheaper. Currently, ZOne1511 is ok, but occasionally the quality is bad. fail rate is less than 10% but saving is at least 30% average compare to 001. Have contact the Green man to see if they can provide better solution and also price. Had ask LGA too. but was wondering if there other players out there that can offer such solution?

some ppl say 1516 ish gootch, some say sunpage uses cable. but ultimately, if u wan save, u got to accept some quality degration. else use VoIP G711 and hope the jitter and latency problem dosn't affect too much

I think the point is "consistency". No point cheap but as good as 001, but when someone needs to make a scheduled business call, the quality drops *at that time*. Dunno if it is a career limiting choice there :D

you see, IT is always the greatest money spender in all company across industry. so in order to save $ and get the same amount of work done seamlessly is always a challenge. VoIP is only visible is we are having a large corperate environment and there will a standard backbone available. as It calls itself Voice Over IP, Without good IP connection, voice is not possible, i would say some countries is always good when it is local but when i goes to the internet cloud, all provider is not able to guarantee 95% clarity. Even i am in the IT industry, i don't really like VoIP for corperates coz there are business calls which we cannot miss or have any latency issue. Just wanna see if there are other players in the market where is accepted by corperates and do not have any issue.. :(

I totally agrees with you man.. the problem with my currently provider is "consistency". Something they are good, but sometime it could be as bad as the other parties not able to listen to the conversation, especially in my office we call out lot of international calls, something it does not look good on us. As corperate, we need some form of assurance u see.. else it will be an open end issue. Currentlty provider is as good as i have tested, comparing risks and price, hoping to get more choice and ask more before deciding if we should jump ship.

001 for voice quality if you cannot compromise on quality. I have tons of call from the cheaper provider , each claiming to be the best..

I did try some a few years back and latency were a killer. In the end, fell back to 001... To me, it is not worth the money saved if my company can lose millions of $$ if the voice quality is bad.

Bludot 1576, Sunpage 1521, Mediaring 1551 are good... I've been using them and definitely can save a lot... I occasionally use 1511 too but the quality is not as gd sometimes.. But for 1511 u can specify what providers to route calls thru too.

ever consider setup own voip across offices?

my concern is not really calling my oversea office? more like calling to oversea countries. mostly asian countries.

every consider pennytel.com?

they do have a call back service and if you have some VoIP setup like asterix, you can connect it directly.

calls to many countries are $0.08 (unlimited duration).

They do have Corporate service as well, but they are based in Australia.

I pay them via credit card.

that can be done with voxalot.

and its free.. just register all your VoIP accounts there and specify how the routing is to be done.

hi Hangyong, actually the cheapest rate is VoIP after review all possible Service provider, my concern is still the consistency and since it is IP base, if my network is down.. my Phone die as well, which is not what i am looking at..

each foreign country can have a voip gateway to enable calling at local rate there.

each country install a device like the Sipura SPA3100 (now Linksys SPA3102).

if need higher end, go for the higher end ones...

these devices routes all calls via SIP, and if internet down, it can auto switch to use the normal phone line as back up.

my previous setup, I can call from overseas using a client to my sipura, if no one answer, or if I select, the sipura can actually dial a out, and route my call to another number (e.g. I call my sipura at home, no one answer, I ask it to call my wife's mobile).

very flexible setup.

You may want to look at Hoiio (http://content.hoiio.com/), which you can try easily for free as an individual. They have a corporate solution (http://content.hoiio.com/business.html) too.

Best of all, they are based in Singapore :)

if quality is the main concern, VOIP platform would not be better, and not to forget about the hassle of using it. My company has been using ZONE1511 for 4 years and so far so good.. quite happy with the rates they offer :)
