Robots are great helpers in the factories helping to do the heavy jobs and accurate jobs that is of high difficultly to us. It also speeds up the production lines in the factories as they were able to accurately execute every command and requires little or no rest time at all. Also in the hospital, robotic surgery (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotic_surgery) helps to reduce the pain of patients and thus reducing recovery time required by normal operations. It is also used to perform operations dangerous to us like bomb disarming and exploring planets like Mars.

Surely robots can do a lot of tasks which would be difficult or if not well-nigh impossible for human beings to carry out manually.

However, there are also issues regarding the usage of robots. A robot which has defect/s in manufacture or has a long service history can malfunction, or cease to function at all. And as such, they even require specially trained human beings to inspect and repair them. Some robots also require periodic maintenance throughout their service life, which inevitably calls for human labour.

So while robots can be very capable in carrying out duties (especially heavy ones), they are not perfect, as they constant upkeep, be it in energy sources or human labour.

It is this way that robots will never be able to totally take over all human labour jobs.
They will not be able to introduce new inventions as they are programmed to do certain task that is of high difficulty or high accuracy.

Well... robots can help to clear human trash, like compacting them into square cubes and stacking the cubes on top of one another :P

I've managed to buy the Ultimate Wall-E toy last week, though still have not opened the packaging yet.
