Linksys WRT54G Router and utorrent

Dear all,
I am using

starhub broadband
Linksys WRT54G Router
uTorrent 1.8.2

Recently just downloaded a torrent, with many seeders.
But the download speed is only 1~2kb/s (it is worse than tortise):(
May I know how to make it download even faster...
Some recommend patching using TCPIP.SYS patcher to allow more than 8 half-open connections. I have done that. but still slow ...
pls advise.
If possible attach a screen shot for me. thanks!

I went to linksys internet portal to do the setting to enable my utorrent port number.

You must get a green tick at the bottom of uTorrent. if not, you've done something wrong.

For uTorrent I think they are not detecting StarHub IP addresses correctly for their port tests. :o

Yup got the green tick in utorrent.
and correct, even thou i got the green tick, the port forwarding check in utorrent still said cannot detect the port forwarding.
so ... with all the correct setting...
how can i make it run even faster ????
pple say they can run with up to 100kb/s with enough seeders ...
my torrent also have sufficeint seeders .... but still crawling at 1~2kb/s sometime lucky 10kb/s

there is a reset button in the router. just press it to rest and will be able to detect.
but beware, i tried doing tat and my default port forwarding connection setting cannot detect the network.

-patch half open connection
-set above default for half open under advanced setting.
-set dht.rate to 2 under advanced setting.
-enabled; for protocol encryption outgoing.
-open the port.

i have plenty of seeds too for this torrent. but only connected to 220 seeds and im only getting 400kBs the max, average 300. thats pathetic compared to others who can get up to 1mbs. on sh premium.

any advise?

plenty of seeds doesn't mean the seeds wanna seed to you or has the b/w. if you downloading public torrent of pirated content, seeds have no motivation to allow lot's of bandwidth to you to start with. these are called kiam siap seeders.

if you want to download pirated content fast, join a private tracker where sharing is motivated to avoid being kicked out. you can try public open source torrent. these are very not kiam siap and will seed until your bandwidth bao zha.
