i have no problem, accessing home pc or other servers at home from outside using internet (wireless@sg, bbom).
how you locate your pc's public ip? have you tried using dynamic dns services?
what service and client you use? i running ms rdp.

i dont recall there's any port required for dyndns. you installed the dyndns client? did you allow any firewall program to allow dyndns to communicate? likewise, allow firewall for rdp?

1st - MIO modem(default firmware from Singnet) doesnt support dyndns.
2nd - even if its on STATIC IP for your computer, you will never be able to gain access from outside as the ip address required from external internet is a public IP and not a local IP
3rd - key in your PublicIP:3389 instead and try again make sure you've done a proper port forwarding with your 2WIRE BOX.

yup 2wire doesnt has dyndns support, thus dyndns client (for the pc) was suggested.
i highly suspect is firewall. i configured my norton firewall so that rdp is accepted.

Check how do I do the 3rd step?? I have tried accessing using the internal ip, no problem. Not using the external ip. I have also installed the dyndns client on my pc to forward the WAN ip to the host.

http://whatismyipaddress.com/ <- check what's ur public ip address while at home.
In the 2WIRE modem itself there's a page where you can find your external wan ip as well.
Internal IP is only for INternal usage = where your router is, you attempted to access your internal network thingy. Alot of people around the world uses 192.168.1.254 - if internal ip = external ip then everybody will be able to access everybody and that's wrong. Hopefully you will understand my explanation... i do not wish to go into extreme detail on what is public range and non public range etc etc etc as you might not able to understand :)

wan ip can be gotton from the 2wire set itself, or by free subdomain service of DDNS provider.

yes portforward to ur PC or whichever PC that requires remote access(different ports) - the DMZ with 2WIRE is near useless if u ask me. :)

Well, its stated on the page that you need to renew the lease/restart PC.

I have just recontracted my broadband and was given a free wireless intergrated 2wire modem (mio).
Previously I was very happy on the previous modem used. Thomas Speedtouch bridge with connection to my Linksys wireless router. Very smooth and fast surfing.
But after I switch to this MIO 2wire intergrated wireless modem. I face problem with the set up initially. Get the technician in and link up for me. Now surfing well. But the connection speed from the indicate don't seems to be stable. Sometime 54Mbps.. sometime 24Mbps.. Sometime while I am typing email or like this....type posting here (idle for a while) then click post or send. error page came up and infact seems like disconnected. Don't know why like that also.:s8:
