The procedure to change the drive letter (eg. DVD drive) is pretty straightforward...
Control Panel > Admin Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management

BUT, the moment I clicked on Disk Management, I get the following error:

I have no idea what's causing the error...
But if this problem can't be resolved, is there any other way to change the drive letter of the DVD drive?

Thanks...

Go to start>run then type services.msc

Ensure "logical Disk Manager" and "Logical Disk Manager Administrative Service" are started and not stopped.

Thanks for your input...

Have done as per instructed but got the following errors for both:

Hmm.... did you run ccleaner or any other so called registry repair software prior to this problem?

If yes, reinstall WinXP again to fix the corrupted registry.

I'm not trying to bad mouth ccleaner, but i don't have any luck with ccleaner, my first experience using ccleaner is something similar to this problem, ccleaner cleaned disk management out of the system which i failed to fix it after exhausted all tricks and registry fixes. The second experience was nothing new, same problem of missing disk management in the system console.

Uh, let's see, I don't recall having any registry applications running because I don't tweak registries...
Gosh, and reinstalling WinXP is the worst nightmare cause there'll be tons of things I'd have to reinstall after that...
I remember quite vividly that I was able to change the driver letter not too long ago when my DVD drive was external...
But somehow when I installed it internally yesterday and wanted to change the drive letter, the Disk Management didn't work... :-\

Thanks for your suggestion though...
