Could it be 3rd party maintainence?

My area received SH notice of 3rd party maintainence and that there'll be disruption between 9am-6pm. Was yesterday though, but ur area might be today?

My disruption lasted less than 30 mins only.

Definitely starhub problem. Facing issues surfing, WOWing, youtube streaming and p2p downloading since Sun evening. Already logged a tech support call on Monday. No resolution yet. Definitely not gonna sign up anymore ultimate plans with them. At best, I'll just get their cheapest unlimited plan. At worst, I'll get my company to sign up a corporate account with Singtel.

Areas I was in: Sembawang and Pasir Ris. No improvement for either locations. sigh...

my internet went down for a few hours last week, some maintenance thing went on and some joker cut off the signal. Well done. btw, sembawang area.

After call and complained, my utilities.SH.com, speedtestnet and .com.sg download speeds LAGI WORSE!!! Now, I'm beginning to wonder if the backend staff are toying with the connection. Yes, I know people can deliberately toy with you when they can. It's like in a restaurant, you comment that the steak isn't done right, demand that the chef should get it right in the first place and diss the waiter for poor service. So waiter takes the plate back to the kitchen and convey your message to the chef. The chef takes offence; rubs a new steak up his you-know-where; cooks it to you request; and passes on to the waiter. Now, the waiter decides to contribute... well you all should know how the story ends.

Sigh...

My advice to you: After this current contract ends, sign up with another ISP. And to minimise loss of time, effort and money, just get the cheapest unlimited account with the ISP. So even when the service is unavailable because of these cheapskate local companies, you won't feel too cheated.

I'm gonna do the same here once my contract ends in 6 months. Probably, I'll get my company to sign up an account for me instead. So even when connection is down, I won't be paying for lousy service. Even better, I can blame the ISP if I cannot connect to work from home. :s13:

Thanks for the feedback. Anyway, waiting for more feedback and better offers when the time comes nearer for me to get a new contract.

I have no contract with any one. If I make the switch, I'm forcing myself into a 24-month contract with additional mobile and fixed lines that I don't need.

1. Any difference between Mio's internet and SNBB?
2. Any peak hour slowdown like SH?
3. Congestion for too many subscribers?

I'm still in dilemma whether to switch or not. The problem is I'm having very slow connection speeds to overseas everyday from evening time to dawn the next day. Anything outside this period, everything is A-okay. Very slow download speedtest.net like 200kbps and below!!!
