i want to connect my 1tb wd mybook essentials to the router in order for it to be accessed by people connected to my network whether wired or wirelessly? for home use. den can stream video, music, anytime by anyone in the house. XD

Any brand any model, with usb hdd sharing
Then again, a NAS is more recommended for the job.

hmm. but i no money to buy NAS leh. furthermore i might want to bring my 1TB to fren's house to sic movies, music.

wad wud be the big diff between using a NAS and ext HDD-router configuration?

yes, DIR-655 can be used to achieve that via shareport.
