i just bought the holux gpsmile 61, and i tried using a usb charger to charge it.... when i plug the charger into the gps device, the device will automatically start-up and the battery icon will show it's charging. but when i tried switching it off, cos i wan to charge it without it being turn on, the screen is black.... so does this mean that it has to be charge with the device fully on?

No, it will charge with the screen off. When its full, i think the screen will turn on. IIRC.
I am using that as well. Anyway the battery don't last long... buy a car charger and use better or if your Headunit got USB port, lagi better.

O.... thnx for reply me...

i found a problem with my gpsmile 61... every time i turn it off and then on, the clock seems to have reset! i.e, the time will be back to 1200pm... is there a problem with my gps device?

It donlt happen on mine. clock reset only after i remove the battery for some time.
There is new map liao, updated yet? Not sure if there is new firmware along with the map update

can u help me by trying to turn on ur gps indoors, i.e. it cannot fix to any satelite.... then u turn it off and then on... n c if the time will reset? (dun allow the gps to be fixed at any 1 time in doing so..) thnx.

btw, how long does u take to fix ur gps?
