View Full Version : Dlink Shareport
Other that the N-router which has a single port USB, is Dlink considering having a Network USB Hub device?

You mean this (http://www.dlinkshop.com/product.asp?sku=3708617)? It is there, just that not available in Singapore currently.
No. That product is a Wireless USB Hub. I am looking for Network USB Hub. Something like this (http://www.verudium.com/vuns.php). But this one does not support USB TV stick.
So far, the DIR-655 shareport actually works when I connected a USB TV PVR to it. It is the only one I know that works.
The other way is to get the DIR-855, use that shareport for USB TV PVR. Relegate the DIR-655 as an AP for Print Server. :P

Lol, kb and mouse. Tat sounds fun.
There are a lot of possibilities. But the implementation is patchy.
Printing and Storage quite sure will work.
But those below are not too sure.
- Scanning
- Web Cam,
- TV Stick
- USB DVD ROM
- USB Speaker
- USB Skype Phone
- USB Display

and scanning works... as its stated as supporting scanning for mfp/scanners
Yup, Agree Dlink shareport is well implemented. If only it is implemented as a hub device.

IIRC you can connect a usb hub and connect more devices.
That's the case for the apple APES.
That's also true for network usb hub like the verudium.
A local offering of network usb hub is the blekin network usb hub.
However as to whether it will work with tv tuner which is relatively data intensive is unknown.

It work great for me. Minus we need to connect and disconnect from the apps.
