I presume that you are not using router. You will need 2 network cards in the main comp. 1 will be connected to the internet while the other will connect to the second comp. Refer to this link (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126) from microsoft.

nothing don't
simply.. take note on your wireless name and your security pin..
since you are using 2Wire Router..
It should be 2WIRE(last 3 digit of you serial number located at the modem itself)
and
wep is the 10 digit number in e brackets. [XXXXXXXXX]

with this router, not possible.
even if its not this router, oso cannot
It is first come first serve. Incl multiple request from 1 single app

nope, it will not be halved. it will behaves more like automatically routing the required bw to the required devices.

Then i must be not thinking straight.
Sorry. I tot i read bandwidth for individual applications - that can be achieved with Asus Router.
and with DD-WRT firmware wired connection is possible.
Wireless i am not too sure if TS using on both his PC a wireless or only 1.. if only 1 of the computer is under wireless you can easily configure e amount of speed of your overall wireless speed.

Not sure if there is an extension antenna cable that you could run to attach the antenna in a better position.
Found this:

OK I spell it out.
You wrote you bought the adapter and the comp is under the desk so poor signal. So I wrote to say connect the adapter to the cable, then connect the cable to the given antenna and place the antenna on your desk lah where the signal is better.
N > G > B
Seriously it won't hurt to googe a little bit and read up then ask questions if you did not understand what you read.
