Hi.. Was told that a micro filter is to be plugged into every phone socket throughout the house, even if that phone socket is not connected to anything. Meaning just leave the filter dangling there. Can someone enlighten me whats the logic behind this? :)

In East Area.. supposedly the boss of a sub-contracting company. 1 day before another technician came to set up BB. Next day mio tv (connected wirelessly) wasnt working.. this boss came down said micro filter was spoilt(yup.. so fast).. changed the filter and showed my brother difference in speed with and without micro filter and said all phone socket requires a filter for better speed. So he plugged 2 more micro filters in rooms that did not have anything connected to the socket.. just dangling there.
