Hi people, I currently reside in Woodlands and am at the moment using Singnet's 10MBPS Broadband connection. I am currently hooked up to a Belkin N1 router/modem, and have 4 computers connected to the Internet at any point in time.

3 of the computers are used extensively for gaming.

So far, playing games such as World of Warcraft has given me some latency issues, and sometimes I have to restart my router/modem a couple of times to get optimum download/upload speed on the speedtest.net site and in-game latency.

My bills average around $120 (my Singnet plan was the old 3 year contract that comes with the Lenovo laptop, supposedly going for $88 per month).

Based on location, because I heard from some that location plays a part with ISP strength connectivity, and the network of computers that I have, what would be a suitable recontracting plan that I should take up? Is there any plan that can serve my needs that's affordable and provides decent speed?

I am also thinking of going for a downgrade as paying $120 per month during these tough times can be quite a strain :\

8mbps enough for you, if you are not into downloading. but is your contract over already? if not cannot downgrade? and recontract sometimes may have better prices than normal new sign ups. probably can call up their cso to ask

Out of curiosity, are we allow to recontract at a lower plan, say from 10Mbps to 8Mbps?

My SNBB contract will expire in Jun09 and I am planning to change to MIO. I don't see the point of paying monthly/quarterly fixed line charges when MIO offers fixed line in the package.

Just my 2 cents worth.

My recontracted 8mbps will be activated on 15 April; currently on 10mbps.

You can recontract to any plan (lower/higher) as long as you're not under any contract.

On the average, how much is 8mbps per month (inc. of GST, and whatever hidden costs there may be etc.)?
