My ping in-game is not consistent.

Previously using 3mbps on 2wire 1800hg modem. 2 PC and 1 laptop using at the same time. no problem playing l4d on singapore servers, ping is consistent below 50ms.

switched to 8mbps on 2wire 2701hgv-e white modem. 2 PC using at the same time. when playing l4d on the same singapore server. my ping will shoot up to 200ms when horde come attacking. NO SUCH PROBLEM when using previous plan and modem. and no the other PC is just playing RAPPELZ and not dling anything and it is lagging too.

may I know whats wrong?

the dl speed is okay. but the ping is not good at all.

3 DIFFERENT technicans had come and said my line no problem at all. the last 1 came and i showed him the ping when playing l4d

he say its IT side and will help me write report and ask the IT people to come help me.

feeling damn ****ed up now.


even CS also sometimes the ping will shoot up to 100+ms

anyway to check my ping properly so i can show the IT technican when he comes?

if its local server, ping above 200-250 is then a bit slow. if overseas server would be a about 300-400, if not otherwise i believe it should be ok.

anyway is it everytime that when the horde comes then ping latency will shoot up to 200+? if so then could be due to massive data required bah.

how about trying to play with direct friends instead of going through a local server? se, if the same thing happens again. probably could be server causing latency issues.

what do you mean by playing with direct friends?

means i host the game and let them join?

but why is this happening when it doesn happen when i was using the previous plan/modem?
