If I connect my computer directly with the motorola cable modem then I have no problems and access to the internet.

But if I try to use the router then I cannot access the modem nor the internet.
I can manually access the web interface of the router but I have no clue what to do. The automatic doesn't seem to work.
And the setup from the disc is failing since it tells me all the time that the ethernet cable connection between computer und router failed. (but this is not true - otherwise I wouldn't access manually.

Is there anyone here who could tell me what I have to set in the router so it could provide internet for the whole lan?!

I disabled in the meanwhile the DHCP in the cable modem since as far I understand it will work onle while there is no internet connection.

Before this all doesn't work I haven't to start with wireless :-(

I found now the solution. It was really the stupid ethernet cable. The one between cable modem and router. I replaced it with another one and now all works fine.
Why do they have to include such cheap china cables which not really work?! It is not worth to save the 20ct.
