[Starhub] Anyone facing issues with downloading from sites like MegaUpload?

I am facing issues as the Megaupload download speed never go beyong 2kb/sec.

I live in Toa Payoh, using SurfLite, paying 29.98/month

I have paid megaupload and rapidshare accounts.

When i first started with this two, i can reach 250+Kb/s of speed

but for the past week, it has never gone past 50kb/s

Singnet promotion with 32/month for 8Mbps.... i guess it's time to change

sat&sun WHOLE day and weekdays peak hour (~6pm-3am) download speed is 3-10kb/s
non-peak download speed 50-300kb/sec

i have other issues as well on weekends, ALL my download no matter where is source is less then 10kb/sec, this happen last year nov after they provide free voice call.
and i can conclude at least for my area that they heavily throttle non-standard port and port 80 is throttle too to around 30kb/sec by watching various downloads over a period of times.

Was on surf-lite also.
Called starhub a few times to KBKP, and I use the following line "Call your talented Network Engineer to come down to my house and feel the speed, you will know what I am so pissed off." They all LL, 2 hours later, the engineer called me and ask me to send some stupid online test. I told him I sent a copy last week and he say send again.

I replied fine, then I demand if compensation for the poor internet service.
It is very fine for the first year of subscription. Now becomes a bull****. Once the contract ends this year end, I will consider signing up a phone line for Singnet's ADSL if they failed to compensate me.

You are using the free Megaupload or the Premium one ? From what I understand, the free one is limited in terms of speed determining on how many people downloads through it and the premium one would give you a better performance.

Besides if Megaupload is the only site which is slow for you, you can hardly blame starhub for it. Besides they offer 'best effort' in terms of the internet speed.

Of course, if you are not happy with them, you are free to hop over to singnet.
