My room doesn't have a telephone socket, only power sockets.
Can I connect my modem wires like this? Two to Belkin 6Way w/Telephone Protection (http://www.videopro.com.sg/products/product_info.php?products_id=3041) (one into a power socket, one to a telephone port), another one to the computer's USB port.

that thing is a surge protector, it does not extend your telephone line.
And where did the USB thing come from?

no way. you need to connect the telephone socket to your surge protector. notice three phone sockets?
1.) Phone (to connect to your telephone)
2.) Line (to connect from the telephone socket)
3.) ADSL (to connect to your modem)
try using wireless ba.

actually even if your room doesnt have telephone wire, how about buying a normal telephone line extension, pull all the way from my living room. doesnt cost much approx 1-2 dollar, works fine for me, cant even tell that there is signal degradation.
so for your tat setup, can use the extended tel line then connect to the surge protector then to modem.

Thanks for the answers. For me, I currently connect a long wire from living room to my bedroom too, I thought if I can use the method I mentioned, then I can keep my wires in one room only.
