Microfilter question

Hi all, out of curiousity, is it better to plug in the telephone wire from my bb modem into the telephone wall socket with or w/o a mircrofilter as i dont need to connect a phone to the microfilter.

if there are no phones/fax on your telephone line at any part of your house, there is no need for a microfilter.
