i'm a stuckhub maxonline sub. 28 mth contract ending next month.

current.

cable-> starhub motorola modem -> dlink dgl4300 router -> pc, laptop wirelessly, xbox 360

above connection very simple, no need userid/password, any end machines can access internet as long as modem and router turn on at all times...

now i thinking of changing to singnet $35 8mbps due to sucky speed at stuckhub..
plan to take the cheaper ethernet modem as i do not need the 2 wire modem/router.

so what is my future connection? want to be the same as the current to that any end machine can access the internet.

tel line -> ethernet speedtouch modem -> dlink dgl4300 router -> pc, laptop wirelessly, xbox 360

1) is it as simple as the above?
2) how do i access the speedtouch modem(?) to enter the userid/password so that it will always connect to the internet?
3) do i need to change some setting at my dlink gaming router to work with the speedtouch modem?
4) i keep reading threads of flashing of the modem and setting it to bridge mode. what the hell is that?

hope some fellow expert can answer my queries..

Try doing a search on ST536 or ST536v6 here.

I'd suggest that you switch the SpeedTouch to bridge mode, and enter the userid/password into the D-Link router instead.

ur speedtouch shd have diff ip from your aztech, i done b4 for company, aztech shd be 10.0.0.1 or smth and speedtouch ur own set one. By default you should be able to access both. However.. the easiest is connect speedtouch first directly to pc, configure, can go online already plug to ur router and ur done.
