I've been using Singtel broadband for the past few years, and been using it to download stuffs by BT. Never had problems with it (speed was good, port was green all the time(read: not blocked)) until recently. I cant get my port to show green light. It is always grey (read: blocked).
I checked the firewall on singtel modem, the port forward I did was still there. My machine's firewall is also off. Nothing's changed. But now the port is always blocked. Any idea why?

In fact, just re-format my PC, thinking the same as u did. But even after re-formatting, it's still the same. Port is still showing grey...

Firstly, since you did port-forwarding, I suppose you assigned to a Static LAN IP address.
Does that IP address correspond to the PC/Notebook you're using for BT? Also, is the port the same as what's in your BT client?

I'm using 2wire modem. The port forwarding in this modem doesn't need static IP. I believe it detects the computer by its MAC address. In the modem, I simply set up the port forward according to the machine and port number that I will be using in the BT client, and that's it. It was working for all this time, until recently.
Anyone had the same problem?
And I try to check if the port forward works, using this URL
http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=xxxx
but it will always redirect me to this URL
http://www.utorrent.com:16000/testport2.php?port=xxxx
and gave me the Page Load Error..

turn off NAT and UPNP mapping then redo the port redirection.

Those are the settings on my modem and bitcomet. Yes, my computer is connected directly to the modem. Can help me find out where the settings go wrong? I could post more screenshots if needed. Thanks :D

try clicking on the [home network] icon and see this device active or inactive and check that this device is having the same mac address and ip address as what is being assigned to you. Last but not least, check you windows firewall, 3rd party firewall, antivirus, internet suit etc.. and see if it is blocking anything.

I'm not at home now, so I can't really check the device mac and ip. But from what I saw this afternoon, when I was the only one online at home, the page showed only my machine as the active device, with my computer name on it. I will verify the mac and ip address once I get home :)
Regarding firewall, I only have windows firewall on my machine and I turned it off for the BT testing purposes, yet it still failed. I recently formatted my computer and haven't really installed anything yet. Only BT client and some image processing applications are installed.

Hm, I tried using the same URL to check the port
http://www.utorrent.com:16000/testport2.php?port=xxxx
but it returned Page Load Error in my browser. Is that what it's gonna show if the port is not port forwarded properly?

I substituted xxxx with some port numbers btw ^^;

http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php ?
If you are using pg2, make sure it doesn't block utorrent ip.

Orh.. Stupid me!!
I will check that port again using the URL you gave.
However, what if it still failed. I guess the portforward I did on the 2wire modem is correct, isn't it?
Screenshot:

And in my machine, I turned off Windows Firewall and no other firewalls installed. Portforward should be working fine, shouldn't it?

hi, just tried checking on those things you asked me to check.
the mac address and the ip address in the modem is the same as the ones assigned to me.
checked it from ipconfig -all command..
the weird thing i found is that, i tried to open the page
http://www.utorrent.com/testport.php?port=5000
but it always gave me page load error.

I tried another approach today. Set my computer as part of the DMZ in the modem,
"Allow all applications (DMZplus mode) – Set the selected computer in DMZplus mode. All inbound traffic, except traffic which has been specifically assigned to another computer using the “Allow individual applications” feature, will automatically be directed to this computer. The DMZplus-enabled computer is less secure because all unassigned firewall ports are opened for that computer."
which basically will port forward all ports (IMO). but the port forward still doesnt work... :s :s
NB: I have the windows firewall turned off, no other 3rd party firewall installed (just formatted my comp, again), check the local IP address assigned to me is the same as the one in the modem, and the mac address matches too.
Can anybody help?

If you can download using uTorrent means the connection working and you can connect out. Setting the port forwarding for uTorrent is to allow others to connect to your PC. If you can see a green circle with a Tick at the status bar of uTorrent means your port forwarding is set correctly.

The Allowed applications name in the 2Wire firewall setting should be 'uTor' for uTorrent application.
try changing the name from 'uTorrent' in the 2Wire firewall to 'uTor' and try again.
also keep 5 digit port range.
