I recontracted with Singnet last September for an 8MBps plan @ $55 and MIO TV and an Acer Netbook was promised.
Singnet did the following. Read and be forewarned so you'll be aware of the RED DEVIL
1) They backed out of initial deal and insisted that I pay $59/mth instead just to get MIO TV access because there was a "special wireless modem". It was never mentioned that the "special modem" was required before I signed up.
2) They made mistakes in the monthly bills and have only now, 6 months after initial contract, managed to correct the numerous mistakes in the bills
3) When asked for compensation for the time, money and annual leave spent, they pointed to the following:
" As indicated in our website, we do not compensate for any loss.
eneral>
11. Exclusion and Limitation of Liability of the Service Provider
11.1 Notwithstanding any provision in any Customer Agreement to the
contrary:
11.1.1 the Service Provider shall not be liable in any way to
the Customer whether in contract, tort (including negligence or breach of statutory duty) or otherwise for any direct or indirect economic or financial loss or damage (including loss of revenue or profits) howsoever caused or arising, including but not limited to any such loss caused or arising from any breach or failure by the Service Provider to perform any of its obligations under any Customer Agreement;
Since we were not able to resolve matters via emails and phone, I had to initiate a meeting with you so my colleague from Billing could explain the bills to you clearly and subsequently clarify issues in-person. "
If you think CASE can help, you're wrong. They only exist and take "action" is a large group of people encounter the same problem and if the offender is NOT a large, GLC-type company.

ok billing issue, its singnet fault no question

Maybe you can try a more friendlier tone as it obvious that using strong words on them won't work as they can throw clause 11 on you. Before you read the below, I have to declare that I am in no way affiliated with SingTel in anyway.
On contract and clause, if this "special modem" is listed on the contract or you have written proof (email/sms/letter) of the promotion offered to you, then you will have a stand else anything is consider act of "goodwill" from Singtel. You can however point out that their staff failed to point out that a "special modem" is needed and if that if it was mentioned / brought to your attention, you would not have agreed to otherwise. Remember one thing, you have signed on the contract, which means you have agreed to whatever that was stated on it, so be nice to them and often which i encountered is they will be nice to you and help you push for the compensation. Realistically speaking, it is impossible to claim for annual leave and time spent as you have agreed on the date/time of installation and it is user responsibility to facilitate any work that needs to be carried out. On time spend to pursuit this case of "misbilled" and "entitled rights", it is also in user own capacity, especially when this is a user initialed action, Singtel will not be liable. Unless its Singtel pursuing and failed to prove, then you have grounds to claim for lose of time and revenue resulting from their action.

So convincing "I am not Singtel Staff" ...
Anyway, Leave taken was on their request to "clarify" bills that they ended up not being able to explain and "have to get back to" me.
Sad that who ever is in charged of this forum had to delete the other posts that stated facts like "some times they bill extra ... but what to do?".....
Having been with Singtel for more than 15 year, since modems made dial up screeching sounds and internet was still in its infancy, BBSs were the "bittorrents", Singtel have certainly got worse in service. Yes they have gotten faster. But encountering a problem with them is pure torture.... Try getting things solved, or even a decent genuine reply from their helpdesk ....
Bottomline, connection-wise, at least I heard, Singtel is the best. BUT just hope for the best that they don't suddenly decide to double your bill and hope you'll just pay because " what can we do ?"

Your not the only one who has been using modem and all since the days where speed is at 2400bps.
I purposely made the disclaimer as i know you will think i am someone from singtel as what i am saying is not what you wanted to hear. I will not reply any more to your thread as i am being branded as "someone from singtel".
Lastly, good luck to your claims for your leave etc... I hope you will be the first to push this type of compansation through and set the benchmark for the rest of us to follow.

I have doubts.
You say you did not get the acer netbook, why was that so?
No stock? You missed collection on your part? Some bizarre incident?

Sorry TS to heard u have a bad experience with singnet.
Last yr when i sign up BBOM with singnet and i was promised 30% discount on my sign up.
When my bill came, i was charged at the original price plan without discount. Call the CSO from singnet and being patient with them and explain to them, they ask me not to pay 1st and wait for new update bill.
the following month recieve a new bill with payment starting from the 1st month with 30% discount.
I guss like what the bro say, be patient with them as they are not the one making the mistake and they are there to help u out. ;)

Maybe you are the exception here.
I've been wif singtel > 15 yrs too. They are not the best, but they are not the worst too. I have encountered almost all kind of unpleasant response from residential to biz services. This includes wrong billings. I do not recall I need to take time off to deal face-to-face. The worst I encountered was that I have to take a 10 mins call from Singtel when I was overseas; roaming charges applied.
Either your have little tolerance or your expectation is too high. In either case, you choose to be unhappy and the person dealing at the other side is just merely trying to help you to solve your problems.

I never regret using ADSL broadband for 12 years now. I will certainly never going to use cable broadband that gives uncertainties when dealing with peak and non-peak hours coming in. Stability and reliability connection is a must and concern here for me. With ADSL no worries at all. I had been using PacNet for 9 years and Singnet for 3 years now. I still rate PacNet broadband connectivity and service to be the best but PacNet does not offer higher ADSL bandwidth beyond 1.5Mbps and thus I am using Singnet ADSL broadband now.
Everyday I am tune to internet Bloomberg TV simutenously with more than 6 progams running that requires broadband connections especially trading the US futures derivatives almost 24 hours market.
Fast reliable trade execution is paramount here. Can't affort any disconnection or unstable connection. Using ADSL broadband have served me well all these years.:s12:
