Well, if he can afford it why not? :)
it looks good, reviews for d-link stuff are good, I would buy it too if I didn't know much about networking.

@cesspit86, u can read the basics of port-forwarding online or u can enable uPnP in the software client u're using.

Thanks, but that sarcasm, wasn't necessary. Really appreciate it. If bashing computer idiot like myself, makes you happy, go ahead :) So basically you implying that ONLY those people who could afford that kind of High-end router COULD do port forwarding. How about try learning first, eh?

@IDZetc (http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/member.php?u=171598): Thanks, will try to find out. Tried looking at http://portforward.com/ but couldn't find DIR 855

Why do you think the DIR-855 is worth it? The DIR-855 is actually meant for the rich. While it may be functional, there are cheaper, less sexy equivalents to go for.

Just like owning a ferrari, how many do of those owners do you think drive it like it is meant to be driven?

well, it depends on how u interpret it. I don't mean it that way in the first place. I will apologize if i did in any way offended you. I'm just saying its such a waste. that's all.

read this: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DIR-655/Utorrent.htm <- its similar to ur 855 config.

i am using a win xp system. yup tried using dmz and direct connection without router got problem also.

but now i notice .. the tracker prompt me "only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted"

but i have only 1 instance of utorrent running and have not installed new software..
