Firstly, my local network (transfering a file from a computer to another) speeds is only at ~4m-bytes/sec
using dwa-160.
any idea what went wrong? Is it the adapter fault or the 855 fault?
I've updated to Ralink RT2870 drivers and it still has the same speed

you can view windows task manager to see ur actual b/w utilization.
u transferring alot of small files or 1 single big file? the latter throughput will be higher and more stable.

transfering a single big file. using windows file transfer algorithm yields ~3-4+ while teracopy yields 4-5mbytes/s

yes, transfering files from Intel 4965 <-> DWA-160
even so, wired <-> DWA-160 also has the same speeds

I can get > 10MB/s using wired on my DIR855 and above 6MB/s on DWA160
