Hi, recently I experience very slow performance on my PC with internet connection extremely slow. It's not just one pc but on 2 PCs which is connected to a wireless router at home.

I can't even load up yahoo.com or read mails properly. I'm on a Starhub Maxonline Express. Called them up and they say my third party cable point had bad signals but that my contractor says the signal is good when he came up to check. I don't know what to believe. Starhub say to solve the problem, probably will need to tap another outside line from outside my home and install a new point which cost about $200.

Does anybody experience this before? Both my PC has CPU Usage shoot up to almost 100%.

who to believe? believe yourself.
hook it to the main ORIGINAL starhub cable pt, so simple.

Well, unless the renovator/contractor removed it during works, then too bad for you.

There can be many factors to it.

First of all, is your wireless network secured? If it isn't, someone could be tapping onto it and running BT/P2P with it, resulting in the slowness. If it's secured, then consider resetting the password. You should also power off then on your router/modem.

Also, if anyone of the users are running BT/P2P, then you should limit the upload bandwidth. For MOL, max upload will result in the problem you mentioned.
