i have heard of using public unsecure wifi is quite unsafe as malicious hacker might crack your sensitive information.
can i ask if i use public wifi + connecting to my company vpn server, is it better in this way? any pros like better security and cons like speed issue?
ur advise is greatly appreciated.

and what sort of 'public unsecure' wifi are you referring here?
If you're talking about Wireless@SG, its relatively safe.
Of course, connection thru tunnel with security layer is better

thanx 4 reply, i refer to those public wifi there does not set any password/encryption. You mean Wireless@SG is safe is it because that they provide an additional login page before user can use?

no lah, the login page is to log your name in case you do notti or terrorism related activities while on their network. beyond that, all your network activities can be sniffed from the air by anyone close by.

Usually the APs are maintained and since its biz grade, theres wifi isolation feature should likely be enabled. They do provide free VPN service oso.
