I'm very new to posting a thread here so please pardon me if there's anything wrong with the thread. (:
I would like to purchase a SECOND cable modem so that I can use it for my sister's desktop and not use the wireless network anymore. And through some searching, I realize there is something called the MAC ID. So does this mean that I can only have ONE cable modem running for my internet service? (:

Lehnsherr: Thank you for your prompt reply. But is it okay for me to buy a SECOND modem where by the MAC ID is no longer in use? (:

and should I add only restricted to StarHub's partner sites. it is what comes with every cable modem validated by starhub without a subscription nowadays.
basically you cant plug in two cable modems with only one subscription.
if you are want an alternative, you might want to consider homeplugs which runs on electricity lines. it is suspectible to interference and not really that stable though..
