I'm looking to get a 1TB disk and considering between these.
How does the 7200.12 compare to WD Caviar Black?.. I know the seagate has 2*500GB disks vs 3 fr WD. But in term of performance wise, which is faster, etc?
Thanks in advance

I c... Didn't realise this. Perhaps that's why it gives off more heat then.
Thanks

since the 7200.11, seagate has had very good acoustics and the HDD isn't really audible at all...
with the 7200.12, it is even more quiet cos of fewer platters
anyway both HDDs are good, and it depends whether you prefer better acoustics or not
however is the Black costs much more than the Seagate, i would get the seagate for sure because its no performance slouch either

Just came by the Seagate 7200.12 1TB 2 platter version today at SLS temped to buy but feel that its better to check out the performance first. Anyone came by any good article on it?

7200.12 better.
Seagate is the best.
7200.12 better.
Seagate is the best.
Best in giving you broken drives I suppose.

:):)Which shops are selling the seagate 7200.12 1TB and at what price???:):)
Personally I think Seagate and WD both LPPL. Your luck, if you kena wrong batch or your HDD was dropped during the transportation process or by the shop ppl.
Also must take into account your computer casing is cool or not.
HDD Durability/reliabilty is one thing that cannot be measured in benchmarks.
Seagate 7200.12 1TB not in PCT yet. Other shops cannot see.
