Hi all,

I have a pair of tickets for Taiwan (19 Sept - 26 Sept) selling @ $900 (negotiable but pls be reasonable) The seat is 12A n 12B at the more leg rest area. I will bare the penalty (160 + fare diff) for the changing of name and the difference in flight as jetstar will have to rebook. Currently 2 tickets going to Taiwan on this date will cost $1036 (as of last check on 05/04/09). I purchase the tickets initially for $676 online during the NATAS promotion period. By selling for $900 I am not making a profit as I have to pay (160 + fare diff) in fact I am losing almost 50% of what I original pay. (hope you all understand). I am selling off as I cant go for this trip due to work commitment.

Interested parties can call me @ 98488959.

Thanks

With the price that you have quoted, can take better airlines such as cathay pacific.

Ok first I must insist I am not trying to make a profit. I called Jetstar and their reply to me was the penalty charged will be based on the changed of passenger name for one would be 40 and for my case a pair of return tickets it will be 160 ... on top of this I would have to bear the differences in the air fares depending on the date .. if you all go jetstar and key in this period I am travelling .. it will be 1036... so 1036 minus 676 (wat i paid for) = 360 and adding 160 fo both passengers ... my penalty is = 520 hence i am basing on this amt when i post ...

So doing the maths .. 676 + 520(penalty) = 1196 .. this is the price I will pay for changing the names .. by all means call jetstar and ask them ...

If I sell at 900 so 1196(wat i pay)-900(wat i quote)= 296(my lost) .. half of 676 is 338 and i am losing 296 isnt that near 50% lost ?.. but I am still not making any profits.. i jua wan to illustrate my points here... i am been open by telling you all the situations rather then saying I am selling for 600 and you all bare the penalty charges .. for example if you all are going in july .. the penalty is lower as 160 + 420 (differences in fare for July as it cost ard 986) .. hence i will also lower my selling price ...

Actually I understand the price i state is high .. also it is a monsoon period ... actually it does not matter the date .. you all can depart at any date ... the price difference varies so will my selling price differs .. I will consider the options of selling lower and i am open for negotiation if there are any interested takers~ ...

I think you should call jetstar up and check before you made this statements ... in the first place if there wasnt such a expensive price i need to pay for .. i would sell it at 676 and absorb the 160 myself already ...

your right .. i will just say that i am paying to learn my mistake here .. by shifting dates or changing name .. i realise its as good as buyin another pair of tickets from them ... so i have 3 options:

1) dont go and lose 676
2) change date and top up the differences (160 + fare difference depending on departure date)
3) sell to you all at the same price and i pay the differences (160 + fare difference depending on departure date)

So may I check with you all any other options you all have for me ?

just take this as a lesson that you just lost S$676.
Or cut loss and sell it cheaply and get back S$200-S$300

i would suggest cutting loss at 676.

by attempting to change tickets with dates/name and charging higher prices, it is no longer attractive.

BTW i bought a pair of jetstar tickets to taipei for 798 (inclusive of all taxes).

SQ selling a pair of tickets to taipei for 1598

Yap.. Cut loss is the best way..
Do it before Jetstar gives big discount.. That time u will lose $676 entirely..

Yes i agree. I guess the best u can do now is price your ticket as attractively as possible to reduce maximum loss

or you can just pass it to your friends or relatives so as not to waste the tickets

if you are worried about making a big loss by selling others, maybe you can
pass to your famile members to use rather than sell it.

At this price, very hard to sell. imho.
