Hi there. I really your help regarding this matter. On Feb 2009, I decided to recontract myMaxOnline Express with the Student Plan MaxOnline Express. This is so I can take advantage of my student benefits.

My MaxOnline Express expired on Feb 2009 (at least that's what is stated on my Starhub online account). So I went over to the Starhub Jurong Point branch. He took my student my student card to fill out the form etc. Once that's done, he told me that's all. So I thought that was it.

But, today I received my MaxOnline bill, stating there's an early termination fee to be paid. (over $320+ !) There's a reason why I chose the student plan, it's cause I don't have the means to pay extravagant amount of money every month. And now I received this. The guy at the shop didn't even tell me I need to pay any termination fee, so this comes as a shock to me.

So is there anything I can do?

Call them up and bang table......

Is that really the only way? If possible I want it to be peaceful negotiation. I have been their consumer for around 5 years now, so I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. But $300+ is no joke!

r u saying . ur MaxOnline Express contract suppose to end on Feb. so u re-contract by subscribing Student Plan MaxOnline Express.

The CSO did not check on ur account and inform u if u r still under contract? just call and tell them exactly wat happen lor. if u can produce "(at least that's what is stated on my Starhub online account)" . u got a case.

and, even if u 10 yr with them. u will be treated the same. not much benefit.

I don't think I can reproduce my online account to them, but I still have the receipt transaction when I recontracted with them.

Thanks for the compliment! I did work in retail line for about 2 years, so I understand how the retailers would feel if the customers were to just barge in and demand their rights.

just go ahead and call them. ask them check. they should have record. by right if u r still under contract, the staff will know and should inform u b4 u re-contract. they usually will check their system. thats why I think most likely is their billing department screw up

Hopefully that's the case, cause I just quit my part time job to focus on my studies, so I have any means to pay that obscene amount of money. Anyway thanks for the advice guys! :)
