Hi,

anyone facing slow internet connection when using utorrent? I used to have high speed in the past but now not anymore. I tried different ports but starhub seem to have blocked certain port to discourage us to use bittorrent. This was even proven right when i use a singtel broadband on mobile 1000 and it can reach the speed of 100-300. Its frustrating to pay for so much per mth but getting speed like 1-2kbps. Oh yes, the torents have alot of seeds and i also know the prob with alot of peers but trust me, theres a distinct difference between singnet BOM and starhub connection. I also asked my fren to test with the SAME SEED and her home singnet her speed is also way faster...I'm not using any router, just direct connection to the PC. I did try playing with my upload speed = 0 and playing with the numbers, still the same, speed isn't getting any faster

Does anybody here face the same problem? Anyone knows how to resolve this?

probably it must just be due to the torrent and it does not concern about the speed of ur MOL? sometimes it's just the server the other side that gives the problem...

I recently switched from maxonline 8Mbps to Singnet 10Mbps and I must say there's a significant increase in dl speed. In the past I was getting like at max 30~50kbps from my maxonline but I could actually hit like 500~700kbps for my singnet.

sigh... i was a singnet user many years back and then switched to starhub when the download is way unstable, maxonline didnt give me any prob then and the speed was way faster than singnet... but NOW is the other way round... Wonder what MOL is doing?? haiz... im still tied to this MOL for 1yr 11mths more.... sian......


To: willie.csds, of course i know but could u pls read properly my thread :) Here we're talking about Singnet vs MOL for the SAME SEED but different SPEED. I'm not a newbie in bittorrent

I was on starhub less than a month ago. when BT.. the speed climb very slowly ...and hardly get very fast speed. after I change to ST, BT speed climb damn fast, for good seed , within mins. I can get 600k or more.

(experiences on private BT site with good seeders)

I thought im the only one facing it. Now its only 10/20kbps for the past 2 days.

i read from the feedback from various post conclusion is :

Sintel speed is far better than Stahub now.

but i got one question here is regarind the privacy factor :

ST doesnt really care about the consumer privacy and As a BT fans download "stuFF" , shld i sign up ST ?

as mention in another thread.

Once u go online, its a matter of 'they want to catch you" or not. its not abt privacy anymore when u doing something illegal.

scared of getting caught? dont do it.
