It will be better than wireless but worse than Ethernet.

You are still better off gaming on a Powerline rather than on wireless.

the issue with power strip/extension is virtually eliminated with aztech hl109ep which has power socket acting as pass through (ie you plug this unit directly to the wall socket, then the power extension/strip to the pass through).
