hi all...

Today the guys came and install mioTV for my new renewal contract.

Previously, i was on the ADSL 10mpbs, the recently, i downgraded to 8mpbs via the PC show promo for the S10.

my previous setup was a linksys ADSL modem and a Linksys router.

Now they say that the setup cannot be used on the moiTV and insist that i must use the 2wire modem provided by them.

I am reluctant to change because all my port forwarding and bla bla bla is set on the previous LAN setup.

ok heres my question. Can i use my orginal setup, to run my mioTY STB?
if not, what other suggestion would you provide me as not to affect the config of my original setup.

Thank you

if you want miotv, and snbb, it's unlikely you can stick to linksys.

unless you know the modem can do dual pvc.

hur hur.. bo bian liao. u Must use the 2wire. u can try to bridge ur 2wire. but the MioTV STB must connect to the 2wire.

this is my setup

set 2wire to bridge mode
2wire to miotv stb (using the comtrend homeplug)
2wire to dlink dir-655 to all my lan/wireless connection

aiyoooo so louya wan...
ok so, now i connect my linksys to the modem, set the linksys as router, then the modem to bridge.
all the routing and port forwarding will be done by the linksys..

am i correct to do that?

yah. correct. from what i know, do not do a reset (to factory default) on your 2wire. else ur MioTV might not work.

I think you should just test it out first then see what happens.

mioTV seems to lag alot recently.
makes watching movies (VOD) very frustrating.

anyone have same experience?

just use the 2wire . not with any other router.

how hard/troublesome to do the port forwarding etc?

its not like u got 100 IP that u need to handle
