Dear everyone
I wonder if you are in the same shoes as me.

On the 12th march I sign up for a SNBB 8 mbps for $55 which includes a lenovo S10 ideapad.
In the contract it states clearly that I can redeem it from Morris within 7 days after activation. My singnet was activated on 30th march.

I then receive a letter on 7th april that I can only redeem the idea pad on the 27th April onwards. But isnt that almost 1 month after activation?

I been trying to connect Singnet, Morris and even lenovo but as usual I have been kicked like a ball around with excuses "it their fault.. etc". The usual game....

Having read the TERMS and CONDITIONS which I have sign with Singnet, it clearly states I could redeem it 7 working days after activation or 6th April or later... Isnt this a clear indication that they are not following their own terms and condition?

It is like signing up for something which you don get 100% and get charged for it. If the table had turn around and we be late in paying our bills, arent they the one who issue we pay a penalty for late payments?

They have offered to waive off the monthly charge until I get my laptop but i seriously doubt the Customer care team would have taken note of this and even if I do collect mine end of the month, i still be billed as usual.

Sometimes big companies should have better plan in honouring what they have promoted on newspapers. Not another delicious deal to get sales and then forgo their very own terms and conditions printed by themselves.

For those who share the same fate, please share and lets talk!

Steve

Well, from theres this T&C: http://www-07.ibm.com/lenovoinfo/sg/singnet/
Lenovo IdeaPad S10 or Lenovo ThinkPad SL400 is redeemable 7 working days after service activation date via a redemption letter sent by registered mail..

I did call them up as well before, and they said that the redemption letter to collect will be sent at least 7 working days after the service activation date. I got mine on the 7th working day, so i'm pretty pleased about that.

So even if you they asked you to redeem on 27th April, they're not breaching the T&Cs.

They have to stagger the collection dates to prevent the collection centre from being flooded.

My collection date is on 21st April, but i collected mine already anyway.;)

It seems like the later your service activation date, the later your collection date.

I signed up on March 15th, but my service activation date was on March 25th with the collection date on 21st April

Don't get it wrong, if you intend to upgrade to X200, you can collect it from now onwards. Else you will have to collect it between your designated collection period. I have called and verified that.

It states to collect only betw 27th april and 1st may...

Anyway singnet have agreed to waive off this month internet bill since they have not honoured 7 days redemption, cause if you calculate the days it actually almost 1 month before I can get my lenovo..
They have agreed not to charge me anything till i receive my lenovo..

SO by 27th april still no laptop.. i am going to tell singnet again ... we shall c!

i was more frustrated with the fact that during my renewal online, i was not given the option to just receive the free modem and they are like 'forcing' me to pay the installation fee of $53.
i had to call and kbkp also which they agree to waive off. Shall judge based on upcoming bill.

Don't get kicked around by staying behind the phone.

Go down to one of the Hello! shop and demand an explanation, and if they promised you to waive any charges make sure they take note of it.

If they ask you go to contact Lenovo or whatever other companies tell them to do it, you are paying for it, not vice-versa, and if they state it clearly in their terms then they got to shoulder the responsibility.

If you still not happy call their manager out, call their head out, whatever whatever, make them look bad and they will act.
