Can suggest a wireless PCI card for my desktop and using Singnet MioHome broadband..
I was looking under the networking price guide..But I am not sure which category , I am supposed to look under..
Anyone care to explain... Tks

I dont know if MediaPro still have the Planex http://www.planex.net/product/wireless/gw-ds54gr.htm. I bought it at $29 before. using Realtek wifi chip. Not too bad as it has an desktop extension that helps greatly in the signal pickup.

Seems like the cheapest one oredi $39 ... Or am i looking in the wrong category...

and btw, is there any compatability issues , i shld consider...
My specs..
MioHome(3Mbs)
WinXP , 2.4 AMD Athlon, 1Gb RAM, Gigabyte Mobo (old PC lah)...
and I also dual-boot my PC with Linux ...

If you want to use Linux, then better get ralink or Atheros chips ones. I think Edimax has a few ralink cards. Atheros cards maybe can try Dlink ones.

I suggested Planex card is simply because of the external antenna and low cost, no other reason. BTW, Realtek has OSS driver for its chips too. But i have never gotten it to work. If you are good at compiling modules, it can be a breeze too.
