Hi there

Just wondering if anyone has tried the following with their Mio TV

Since the HD set top box is connected to the router via a regular RJ45 Ethernet cable, what is there, theoretically, to stop me from getting a second set top box and connecting it to the router via, say the Homeplugs that come with the Mio TV.

Would the output be affected if both were screening simultaneously?

Assuming that no one from Singtel is snooping this thread (highly unlikely), would they be able to know on their end?

There is of course a legit alternative of signing up for a second box from singtel.

What are you talking about?

How are you going to get another stb that knows how to retrieve the feeds from SingTel iptv stream server?

the miotv stb is provisioned/identified via MAC address.

even if u can get pass the provisioning and load up the 2nd stb,
how much bandwidth is available on an adsl line?

ftth, maybe...technically

I actually have a Mio TV set top box that I have very little use for. :) Got it because my nephews were staying with me during their hols. But now they have left, I find myself stuck with a device and service that I don't use. And Singtel will not entertain any requests to switch plans. bugger.

that's what a contract dictates.

You will get a invalid STB error if you try to setup a STB not tagged to your phone number. I've tried to switch STB around my home which has 3 MIO plans, cannot work..:s22:
