What's your view on hosted security solution?

More an more companies are offering hosted security solutions. Although it seems like a good solution to have because they promise ease of deployment, cost savings, reduced complexity etc. However, I also hear that there are disadvantages such as difficulty to manage when problem arise.

What do you think? Any advices to share?
