Hi guys,

Any kind soul out there that can help me resolve the following problem that I've been dealing with for days.

When I plug my pap2t phone adapter directly to the modem(single ethernet port), it works just fine with 3 lights on(power, ethernet and phone 1).

However when I try plugging my newly bought router to the single ethernet port modem and the pap2t to the router. I can't seem to get the phone 1 power light on. I've read up online about port forwarding, and I've forwarded every single port that they asked for.

53, 69 5060-5061, 10000 - 32767.

I've even tried disabling the dhcp of the pap2t and assigned it a fix ip add. I've hard reset the modem, router and pap2t many times but to no avail.

One info that might help tho, when I go into the web config page of the pap2t, it says its registration status is "can't login to server". tried searching that but can't find anything useful yet.

Would really appreciate some help here. Thanks in advance

cant login to server means authentication fail lor
either the voice gateway is down, the authentication does not go thru, or the router is blocking the connection to it lor

for the last option, make sure UDP traffic is allowed, and ALG enabled for VoIP(where applicable)

1. Please ensure that your 'modem' is not a single port router - perhaps you can tell us what is your 'modem' brand and model ...

2. If the above is true - then you are using a second router (the new one) to connect. This will result in router to router connection which will give rise to this problem.

You have to 'bridge' the 1st router to overcome the problem...

Hi there, Yup my modem is a single port. So I bought a linksys WRT54G2, wireless G router to use both my lap top and Voip at the same time.

How do I bridge the 1st router? thanks again
