I have a HP MF1522 network printer. Recently, I can't print it through the network setup. I can still do fax.
I have install and reinstall the printer driver. I have also setup a new network by connecting a switch to the printer and 1 computer to test it out.
The printer HPtoolbox can detect the printer is ready and online. I can print a Demo page from the HPtoolbox menu.
What I can't print is from any document from the computer, and test print page from the printer driver property page.
I wish to know whether it is the network problem or the printer hardware problem. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

You selected the wrong printer? Printer paused/offline? Setting problem?

Printer is online and setting is default. I was able to do network printing until recently. Only one printer for selection.

How was it setup? Using the driver disc?
Is the printer using static or dynamic IP address?

Yes, I use the driver disc. The printer is using dynamic IP address. If I will to use a static IP address help.

I also using a HP printer, C6000 series one, with wired network.
Initial setup was with driver disk, later on did manually with a stripped down driver from HP and configuration on the printer LCD.
Usually I recommend you set the printer to a static IP, the DHCP server saves you time to allocate IPs but that is if you have over 100+ users on your network and limited IPs, best set to static so your computers can find it easily.

Thank you. The problem is somehow the computer can detect the printer online and HP Toolbox FX have show that the printer online. I can print a Demo page using the HP Toolbox FX. But I can't print anything from the computer using other program even the test print page from the Window XP driver print menu.
Before I have no problem printing through the network using static IP. Now suddenly I can't print anything through the network and therefore I try using dynamic IP but it fail to print also. I switch back to fix IP but it still can't print out anything. Really puzzle by this problem.
I need to decide whether to bring the printer back to HP to service or not. I try on 2 network and 2 different computer but all fail to print using the network.

Are you able to ping the IP address of the 2 printer ?
Are you try to print to 2 printer from the same PC ?

I have only 1 printer in question. Yes I can ping the printer in the current network. Now I have shifted this network printer to a new network with a switch and 1 computer.
Reinstall the printer driver etc....but still can't print from the computer. I can print the demo page from the printer toolbox.

Do your new network have a DHCP ? Switch only or there is a router ?
Do a ping from your PC to the printer in the new network.

My network connection is ISP to a modem/router to a switch which is connected by a printer and a computer. Yes, I can ping the printer IP address from the computer.
The ping result is average 0 ms.

If I get another network printer connected to the network and it is able to be printed without problem.
Can I say that the HP network printer is faulty and my computer window print driver is ok.

on a DOS prompt...enter in the following commands...
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
netsh int ip delete arpcache
All these require a restart before taking effect. This will ensure your O/S setting is fine.
HP network printer and window print driver is still questionable.
That all I can help... I'm not too knowledgeable...
