I've setup a web server (winxp sp3) which is connected using a lan cable to my 3G wireless router which also allows several laptops to use the internet concurrently through wireless connections. The strange thing is after a certain period of inactivity at the desktop(server), the outbound traffic on the server is no longer possible, ie I could no longer access the internet via my browsers on the server. However inbound traffic is still alive, as I could still access the web site hosted on the server from an external machine via the internet. All other machines which are connected wirelessly to the router are not affected at all. I've already disabled the power saving feature for the network interface on the server. Just wondering if there is any other setting that I can apply to ensure that the internet connection remains connected? Any form of assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tried updating the LAN driver on your server?
Also, is the server disabled from sleep/standby etc for it and the HDD?

I've already disabled the power saving feature for the network card. Moreover, if the network card actually goes to standby, then inbound web request should also be affected and not be serviced, however all my web pages hosted by the server could still be accessed from external machines over the internet. The strange thing is that inbound traffic is not affected but outbound is not possible.
