any of guys have encountered this prob before? using a 10mbps plan and about a week ago
my aztech dsl650eu suddenly cannot establish a dsl connection (dsl light keep blinking, and refuses to stablise. Thinking that it might be my modem problem, i switch over to my linksys am300+ backup modem and still the same problem. called the singnet helpdesk and they recommend me a number of solutions which i tried all beforehand (chg different telephone sockets, direct connect without filter, chged telephone lines, etc..) but none works.
Technincal guy came yesterday and tried with his 2wire 2701 modem, and surprising he is able to get a stable dsl light and get connected to the internet. He told me that two of my modems are faulty, which i found it quite disbelieving, and advise me to get a new one. So i went to get a new linksys WAG54G2 modem/router and as expected the same old problem persist.
2nd technical guy came this afternoon and tried with 2wire modem and again he can get it
to connect with a stable dsl light. So, i was wondering if its a brand issue or something? Cos last time i am able to connect to the internet easily and don't experience this dsl light problem regardless of what modem i'm using. Be it linksys, aztech or even 2wire. Just plug in wait for dsl light to stable, then can connect to internet already.
So i was wondering what might be the problem here. I'm so lost here and even the singnet
technical guy cannot even help me when i ask him whats wrong.

Used to have a stable connection without disconnection what so ever and had been like this since I got SNBB ~ 5 years ago. Since my 2wire died on me 2 years ago and I switch to using linksys WA200G, 2Wire 2700 given by Singnet simply sucks and crippled, only able to use open encryption not WPA no open DNS application, no mac filtering and so on, was without problems what so ever, even the Linksys setup CD gives me a choice of either Pacific or Singnet config which means they should be compatible with Singnet. However only until recently that I begin experiencing frequent disconnection, check router, it say Signal well below threshold was like -2db. If what you say is true I can only suspect Singnet is trying to get all other brand routers and modem incompatible with their network.

This is so weird.... Not sure how to explain this technically. Maybe I will try on mine too. I am having weird problem that I can surf net but I cannot sign in to MSN. Everytime I need to restart my modem & router to be able to sign in. No idea why at all.

ok just an update. I realise every time i restart my modem, even with double filter on, dsl light some times can and some times cannot (90% cannot). I found out that i can only connect through the phone socket of the micro filter but not the dsl socket. wtf??? But speed is greatly cap to only 1mbps (Im using 10mbps plan) when i plug into the phone socket.

Ok found out whats the problem already. Changed the DSL Modulation settings from multi mode to ADSL 2+, on off the modem, can work already. Just to let those who use WAG54G2 out there know if encounter this prob can try this method. As for other settings leave it as default. FINALLY!!!
