Hi, I'm using 2wire 2700HGV-2 modem on Singnet 8mbps plan for 2 years now. For the first 1.5 years, there have been absolutely no problems with the modem. However, for the past 6 months, there will be frequent disconnections whenever I'm using the wireless connection with my laptop. The internet light will just go off for about 15-20sec, in which there will be no internet connection, then start blinking automatically again, in which the connection comes back. All of these happens numerous times automatically and randomly. There is no problem of disconnection when I connect using cable instead of wireless. All settings of the modem are the same since I started using this modem. The only pattern that I've found that may contribue to this problem is that the disconnecting problem started only after I've upgraded my laptop to Windows Vista. When I'm using Windows XP, there is no such problem. I want to know what is the problem - is it the OS of my laptop causing this or is it just the modem acting up?

Try updating the driver.

Check for firmware update, if not reset the whole thing and configure it again.

I've tried resetting the modem and configure it countless times, as well as upgrading the system through the router home page, but to no avail. Or is there other websites to download the firmwares?
