My sister MSN is sending out weird messages to those contacts on her list. Is her PC kana affected with virus?

Any kind soul to advise how to resolve this issue?

Thanks.

I would advise your sister to change her password first and continue monitor the situation first. If still does not solve, you can google for MSN Virus Cleaner and give it a try.

Yup, change password, no need whatever cleaner...

Do advise her that next time if she gets any URL sent to her MSN from any of her contacts, and require her to use the MSN ID and password to 'login', don't ever fall for it again.

That's how her password was stolen, and was used to send those weird messages to her contacts to trick them into the same trap.

if sending messages even if her computer is off, then her account password is stolen, just change pwd;

if sending messages only when online and she notices weird behaviour of the messenger client, then malware is controlling it. clean the pc and change the password using a clean computer
